Martin Christopher Kennedy, known as Bap Kennedy, was born on June 17, 1962, and was a singer-songwriter from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He started his musical career in 1978 with the punk band Sellout. In 1980, he formed the band 10 Past 7, which gained national recognition when they appeared on Channel 4's music show The Tube in 1983. After moving to London in 1987, he founded Energy Orchard, a rock band that toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, and America before disbanding in 1996. He embarked on a solo career with his debut album Domestic Blues (1998), produced by Steve Earle. The album included the song "Vampire", which appeared in the soundtrack for the Oscar-nominated film You Can Count on Me. His subsequent albums include Lonely Street (2000), The Sailor's Revenge (2012), and Reckless Heart (2017). He collaborated with artists such as Van Morrison and Mark Knopfler.
