Beggars & Thieves is an American hard rock band formed in 1989 in New York City by singer Louie Merlino and guitarist Ron Mancuso. The original lineup featured bassist Phil Soussan and drummer Bobby Borg, though both left after the 1990 release of the band’s self-titled debut album. After signing with Epic Records in 1991, the group recorded the album Look What You Create, which was shelved due to the rise of the grunge movement before its independent release in 1997. The ensemble suffered a tragedy that year with the death of drummer Bobby Chouinard on March 8. The band subsequently recruited Sammy Mangiamele for the 1999 release The Grey Album. Now based in Las Vegas, the group remained active into the 2010s and released the Christmas single “Come Christmas Time” in 2010. Their fifth studio album, We Are the Brokenhearted, was issued in December 2011 through Frontiers Records and featured a guest appearance by guitarist Jake E. Lee.
