Teenage Head is a Canadian punk rock and garage rock band formed in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1975. The original lineup featured guitarist Gord Lewis, guitarist Steve Park, drummer Frankie Venom, and vocalist Dave Desroches, though Venom quickly became the lead vocalist and was joined by bassist Steve Mahon and drummer Nick Stipanitz. Their debut single, "Picture My Face" (1978), was followed by their self-titled debut studio album, Teenage Head (1979), which achieved gold certification. The group's breakthrough album, Frantic City (1980), featured the hit singles "Let's Shake" and "Somethin' on My Mind". A performance at Toronto's Ontario Place in June 1980 sparked a riot, leading to a ban on rock concerts at the venue for several years. In 1986, Venom left the band to form Frankie Venom and the Vipers and was replaced on vocals by Desroches. Venom returned when the band reformed in 1988, subsequently releasing Head Disorder (1996). Later releases include Teenage Head with Marky Ramone (2008) and the compilation Fun Comes Fast (2017). Venom died of throat cancer on October 15, 2008, and Lewis was found murdered on August 7, 2022.
