Les Sœurs Goadec, a trio of traditional Breton singers consisting of Maryvonne, Eugénie, and Anastasie Goadec, were born in Treffrin, Côtes-d'Armor, France. The sisters began performing at festoù-noz (night festivals) in 1956, initially with their other two sisters, Louise and Ernestine. Their repertoire primarily consisted of gwerzioù, traditional Breton songs. In 1964, after the passing of Louise and Ernestine, Maryvonne, Eugénie, and Anastasie formed a trio known as Les Sœurs Goadec. They gained significant popularity during the Celtic music revival in the early 1970s, performing at notable venues such as La Mutualité in Paris and Bobino. Their performances included collaborations with Alan Stivell, who was inspired by their repertoire for his band Bleimor. The trio continued to perform until Maryvonne's death in 1983, followed by Anastasie's passing in 1998. Les Sœurs Goadec left a lasting impact on Breton culture, contributing significantly to its preservation and promotion through their traditional music.
