Jean-Michel Émilien, known as EJM, is a French rapper and sociocultural animator born in Vitry-sur-Seine. He began a hip-hop career in the 1980s through breakdancing and graffiti. His musical debut occurred in 1989 with the song "Nous vivons tous" on the compilation Earthquake Sound System – Assis sur le rythme, posés sur la version. This was followed by the track "Élément dangereux" on the compilation Rapattitude in 1990. EJM signed with BMG and released the single "Je veux du cash" (1991), the mini-album État de choc (1991), and the debut album La Rue et le Biz (1993). After leaving BMG, EJM founded the label G'Prod and released the solo album Controverse (1997). He also formed the group G'Squat, which released Album Concept - Volume 1 in 1996. Notable recordings include the collaborative mini-album Antipolitique (1995) with No One Is Innocent and Timide et sans complexe. Subsequent releases include the EP EJM & Rotka (2021) and the mini-album L'époque (2023). In 2026, EJM announced the album Représente.
