Smogus was a Dutch nu metal band active from 1999 to 2006. The band was founded by four school friends: guitarist Jaap van Duijvenbode, drummer Ruben Bandstra, vocalist Daniel de Jongh, and bassist Jeroen Bax. During the recording of their debut studio album, Everybody's Fucked Up Twice (2000), they met guitarist Arno Dreef and rapper-vocalist Wiebe van den Ende, both of whom joined the group. Smogus won an Essent Award and performed at major festivals including Ozzfest and Lowlands. The group's other releases include the Griffin EP (2000), a self-titled EP (2002) released after signing with BMG, and the album No Matter What The Outcome (2004) under the Dutch label The Electric Co. They also released the live album Live & Unplugged in 2005 before disbanding in 2006.
