The Color Fred is an American rock band founded in 2003 by former Taking Back Sunday guitarist and vocalist Fred Mascherino. The project emerged while Mascherino was with Breaking Pangaea, and the name was chosen through an online poll. The band’s first release was Bend to Break in 2007, which reached number 8 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, followed by The Intervention EP (2009).  In 2012, The Color Fred embarked on the Super Karate Tour. After a hiatus, Mascherino returned to the project, releasing the single "Don’t Give Up on Me" in 2019 and "Lost & Lonely" in 2020. The album A Year and Change was issued in 2022, via Mascherino’s Heading East Records, featuring the tracks "Crooked Mile" and "Lost & Lonely."
