The Stryder was an American rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 1999 by Peter Toh and Scottie Redix following the disbandment of their previous project, Yearly. The group initially released an EP titled The Hits Just Keep on Comin' on Elkion Records before signing with Equal Vision Records. Their debut album, Masquerade in the Key of Crime, was released in 2000 and marked the beginning of extensive touring and new material development. In mid-2001, the band underwent a lineup change, adding former Glassjaw drummer Durijah Lang and moving Scottie Redix to guitar and backing vocals. The Stryder parted ways with vocalist John Johansen in 2001 and released their second album, Jungle City Twitch, in 2002. The band continued touring until they disbanded in 2003. Elkion Records released a collection of old demos titled Savor the Danger! in 2004.
