Before Today was a post‑hardcore band formed in December 1998 in San Diego, California, by brothers Vic Fuentes (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mike Fuentes (drums). They were joined by guitarist Joe Tancil and bassist Mitchell Ballatore. The group initially performed under the name Early Times before changing its name due to a copyright issue. In 2002, they released the 4 Song Demo EP, followed by the Roots Beneath Ideals EP in 2003. After signing with Equal Vision Records on 16 January 2004, they issued their debut album A Celebration of an Ending on 21 September 2004. The band disbanded in the fall of 2006, after which Vic and Mike Fuentes founded Pierce the Veil in 2007.
