Ludicra was an American extreme metal and crust punk band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1998. The group was founded by Jesika Christ, John Cobbett, Christy Cather, and Aesop Dekker, with Christ departing in 1999 and being replaced by bassist Ross Sewage and vocalist Laurie Sue Shanaman. Their first public performance occurred in February 1999. The band released its debut studio album, Hollow Psalms, in 2002 through the label Life is Abuse. In 2004, the band signed with Alternative Tentacles and released Another Great Love Song. Its third studio album, Fex urbis lex orbis, was released in 2006, followed by its fourth album, The Tenant, in 2010 under Profound Lore Records. Known for blending black metal with punk elements, the group was recognized as a pioneering band in the San Francisco Bay Area black metal scene. The band disbanded in 2011.
