The Kora Jazz Trio is a West African jazz group founded in 2002 by pianist Abdoulaye Diabaté, percussionist Moussa Sissokho, and kora player Djeli Moussa Diawara. The ensemble aimed to blend traditional Mandingue music with jazz and Latin influences. Their self-titled debut studio album, Kora Jazz Trio, was released in 2003 and marked their breakthrough. They followed this with the albums Part II (2005) and Part III (2008). In 2010, Diawara left the group and was replaced by Soriba Kouyaté. The group subsequently expanded to include various guests under the name Kora Jazz Band, releasing two studio albums and a live album. Following Kouyaté's death in 2011, Yakhouba Sissokho joined the lineup on kora. The band returned to its original name in 2018 for the album Part IV, featuring Chérif Soumano on kora. Diabaté died in January 2025.
