The Arnold Schoenberg Chor, founded in 1972 by Erwin Ortner, is a Viennese concert choir that has also served as the choir of the Theater an der Wien since 2006. The choir's repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary music, collaborating with notable conductors like Claudio Abbado and Riccardo Muti. They have performed works such as Franz Schubert’s Fierrabras and Olivier Messiaen's Saint François d'Assise. The Arnold Schoenberg Chor received a Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance in 2001 for their recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, along with other accolades like the Diapason d'Or and the Prix Caecilia.
