Silence 4 was a Portuguese musical group from Leiria, formed in 1995. The group consisted of David Fonseca, Sofia Lisboa, Rui Costa, and Tozé Pedrosa. Their early breakthrough came when they won the Termómetro Unplugged festival in 1997, which allowed them to record demos with their prize money. In 1998, they released their debut album Silence Becomes It, which reached quintuple platinum status and topped the national charts for several months. The album featured a collaboration with Sérgio Godinho. Their second album, Only Pain is Real (2000), also achieved platinum status after two weeks of its release. The band's final concerts were held at Coliseu dos Recreios in December 2000, after which they disbanded. In 2014, Universal released the Silence 4 Songbook 2014, a comprehensive collection including their albums and live recordings. They returned in 2025 on stage for a series of concerts to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
