The Immaculate Fools were formed in Kent, England, in 1983 by brothers Kevin Weatherill (lead vocal, guitar) and Paul Weatherill (bass), joined by Peter Ross (drums) and Andy Ross (guitar, keyboards). The quartet entered the public eye after being discovered by Tim Robinson during a pub gig in 1984, and released the single "Nothing Means Nothing" the same year, which entered the UK Singles Chart Top 75. Their debut album Hearts Of Fortune followed in 1985, featuring the title track that peaked in the UK Top 40, and was supported by a performance at Channel 4's Euro Tube Song Contest. Subsequent releases included Dumb Poet (1987) with singles "Never Give Less Than Anything", "Wish You Were Here", and "Tragic Comedy", and Another Man’s World (1990), which earned a Gold certification in Spain. The band signed with Cooking Vinyl for Kiss And Punch (1996) and Woodhouse (1994), and toured with acts such as Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, and the Rolling Stones. In 1997 Kevin Weatherill departed to pursue a solo blues career, leading to the dissolution of the original lineup. Weatherill later revived the name with new members, issuing Turn The Whole World Down (2015) and Stardust And Water (2020), while retaining the legacy of the Immaculate Fools’ early 1990s European presence.
