The Notorious Cherry Bombs, originally known as the Cherry Bombs, was an American country music supergroup founded in 1980 by singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell. Initially serving as backing musicians on Crowell's album But What Will the Neighbors Think (1980), the group included former members of Emmylou Harris's Hot Band such as Vince Gill and Hank DeVito. After several years of backing Crowell and Rosanne Cash, the band members disbanded to pursue solo careers and other projects. In 2003, Crowell and Gill reunited with several original members, subsequently signing with Universal South Records under the new name the Notorious Cherry Bombs. Their self-titled debut album, The Notorious Cherry Bombs (2004), produced a minor hit with the single “It's Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night That Chew Your Ass Out All Day Long”. The group disbanded again shortly after releasing their second single, “Let It Roll, Let It Ride” (2005).
