Sustraia was a Basque rock group from Hélette, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France, active from 1992 to 2009. The band played its first public concert on December 31, 1992, and began incorporating original compositions into its repertoire by 1994. Its debut album, Segi segi, was released in 1994, followed by Euskal label in 1996. The group gained popularity through extensive tours, including a ten-day tour in Italy. In 2000, the band released its fourth album, Bi mila. Despite internal changes and a period of inactivity, the group returned with Ze bizia in 2004 and Beti bidean in 2006. In August 2007, the band released the single “Vino Griego”, which became a hit during the Rugby World Cup that year. The lead singer of the group, Patrick Michelena, known as Mixu, passed away on January 2, 2009, leading to the disbandment of the group.
