Doubting Thomas were a Canadian industrial band from Vancouver, British Columbia, that formed in 1987. The ensemble was founded by the musicians cEvin Key and Dwayne Goettel and are famous for being an instrumental side project of members of the group Skinny Puppy and for their cinematic sound. In contrast to their primary work, the project focused on less structured compositions that Key described as “cryer music”. They achieved professional recognition in 1991 with the release of their debut studio recording The Infidel and the single “Father Don't Cry”. The duo continued to record until 1994, when the group disestablished. Following the death of Goettel in 1995, their work appeared on compilation recordings including Paradigm Shift (1997) and Wild Planet (2000). Their debut material was re-released as a two-disc special edition in 2013.
