Fleshcrawl, a death metal band from Illertissen, Bavaria, Germany, was formed in 1987 by Stefan Hanus and Bastian Herzog. After initial name changes due to conflicts, they settled on Fleshcrawl and released their first EP, Lost in a Grave, through Morbid Records in 1991. Their debut studio album, Descend into the Absurd, was released via Black Mark Production in 1992. Fleshcrawl continued to release albums including Impurity (1994), Bloodsoul (1996), Bloodred Massacre (1997), and As Blood Rains from the Sky... We Walk the Path of Endless Fire (2000). The band also played at festivals such as Obscene Extreme and the Helsinki Deathfest, as well as toured Europe and North America. In 2021, they released the album Festering Flesh.
