From sunny coastal days to late-night dance floors, Classica are an electronic duo from the Central Coast, NSW, made up of Julian Rich and James Hopgood. Bonding over a shared love of surfing and music, the pair began DJing together at local parties and club nights, a passion that grew into the project.
Along the way, they’ve built a strong foundation within the Australian electronic scene, playing alongside artists such as CamelPhat, Patrick Topping, Dom Dolla and Fisher, and appearing at festivals including Mountain Sounds and Trick Tenerife (Spain). Their releases have landed on labels like Club Sweat, Basement Sound Records and Hot Sundays, alongside remix work for LDRU and Boo Seeka.
Now entering a new phase, Classica return with a refined sound and a clearer vision. After a period away from releasing music, they’re leaning into a more modern, club-focused sound. Built around the feeling of wanting to hold onto a euphoric moment, their music blends uplifting emotion with a driving energy made for the dance floor, striking a balance between something you can feel and something you can move to. It marks a step forward in both their production and identity, setting the foundation for what’s next.
