Lùnapop was an Italian pop group formed in Bologna, Italy. The group consisted of Cesare Cremonini on vocals and piano, Andrea Capoti on percussion, Michele Giuliani on electric guitar, Alessandro De Simone on drums, Gabriele Galassi on acoustic guitar, and Nicola "Ballo" Balestri on bass guitar. The group released their debut album ...Squérez? in 1999, which quickly became a commercial success. The single "50 special" reached Number 1 in the Italian charts that same year, and ...Squérez? was the third-best-selling album in Italy in 2000. The band won multiple awards in 2000, including Best Band, Best Album, and Best Newcomer. They were also nominated for a 2000 MTV Europe Music Award and won the Festivalbar award with their single "Qualcosa di grande". They disbanded in 2001.
