Pepel In Kri, a Slovenian vocal-instrumental popular music band, was formed in 1974. The group achieved notable success that same year with the song "Dan ljubezni", winning the Opatija Festival and securing participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, where it placed thirteenth. The song was composed by Tadej Hrušovar, with lyrics by Dušan Velkaverh. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Pepel In Kri released several albums, including Dan Ljubezni (1975) and Festivali (1979). Notable singles include "Enakonočje / Naj Bo Baby" and a cover of "Mississippi". The group performed extensively at festivals across Yugoslavia. In 1990, five members returned to the Eurovision Song Contest as backing singers for Toto Cutugno. Key members included Ditka Haberl, who later pursued a solo career, and Tadej Hrušovar, who passed away in December 2020.
