Die Verbannten Kinder Evas, an Austrian music project, was founded in 1993 in Vienna by Richard Lederer and Michael Gregor. The band's name is derived from a line of the Salve Regina. Initially, Richard Lederer composed his first tracks after becoming disillusioned with his previous band. He then collaborated with Michael Gregor, who brought his own ideas to the project. Together, they formed Die Verbannten Kinder Evas and recorded vocals with Nora El Shammah and Julia Lederer. Their debut album, Die Verbannten Kinder Evas, was released in 1995 under Witchhunt Records. Following the departure of both Nora El Shammah and Michael Gregor, Richard Lederer secured a new deal with MOSrecords for their second album, Come Heavy Sleep (1997). The band then signed with Napalm Records for In Darkness Let Me Dwell (1999) and Dusk and Void Became Alive (2006), featuring vocals from Christina Kroustali.
