Extreme Noise Terror, a British extreme metal band from Ipswich, England, was formed in 1985. The original lineup included vocalists Dean Jones and Phil Vane, guitarist Pete Hurley, bassist Jerry Clay, and drummer Pig Killer. They quickly evolved into pioneers of the crust and grindcore genre. Their first release was a split album with Chaos UK titled Earslaughter in 1986. In 1987, Extreme Noise Terror recorded their first Peel Session for BBC Radio 1. The band's debut album, A Holocaust in Your Head, was released in 1989 and ranked third on Terrorizer magazine's list of essential European grindcore albums. They collaborated with The K.L.F. on a version of "3 a.m. Eternal" in 1992, which won "single of the year" from NME and Melody Maker. Extreme Noise Terror continued to release albums including Retro-Bution (1995), Law of Retaliation (2008) and Extreme Noise Terror (2015).
