Stand High Patrol was formed in 2001 by DJs Rootystep and Mac Gyver, who were soon joined by MC Pupajim. Hailing from Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), this sound system—in the purest Jamaican tradition—tours bars and venues throughout Brittany. Stand High Patrol has developed a distinctive dub style that appeals far beyond the genre’s usual audience. Stand High Patrol founded its own label in 2009 and released its debut album, Midnight Walkers, in 2012. A regular at festivals such as the Télérama Dub Festival and Rototom Sunsplash in Benicassim, Spain, Stand High Patrol broke into the top 200 best-selling French albums with A Matter of Scale (2015), followed by The Shift (2017). In 2018, the trio contributed to singer Marina P’s album *Summer on Mars *. They subsequently produced the albums Our Own Way (2020), *Underground Oasis * (2025), and Skanking & Jacking (2026).
