Head Control System, a cross-national rock/metal band featuring Portuguese musician Daniel Cardoso and Norwegian vocalist Kristoffer Rygg, was formed in 2003. Initially known as SinDRomE, the band released their first EP, Severe Damage on Reason and Equilibrium (2003), under Ins@ne Prod. After Kristoffer Rygg joined, the band changed its name to Head Control System. Musically, the band blended electronic music with rock elements, drawing influences from Meshuggah and Fredrik Thordendal's work. Daniel Cardoso handled all instrumentation and production, while Kristoffer Rygg contributed vocals and lyrics. Their debut album, Murder Nature, was released in 2006, which featured lyrics influenced by automatic writing and included wordplays and references to politics, film, and literature.
