Maratonika
Dan Bárta, born December 14, 1969, in Karlovy Vary, is a Czech singer and songwriter best known for his work with Alice, J.A.R., Sexy Dancers, and the jazz project Illustratosphere. He gained early recognition through the Czech productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita. With Illustratosphere, he has released the albums Illustratosphere (2000), Entropicture (2003), Animage (2008), Maratonika (2013), and Kráska a zvířený prach (2020). Bárta has also collaborated with Monkey Business, Gulo Čar, and Xavier Baumaxa, contributed to several film soundtracks, and has continued to perform with Illustratosphere, J.A.R., and the Robert Balzar Trio. He has received multiple Academy of Czech Popular Music awards for Singer of the Year.
