Baklava is a Macedonian world music acoustic band from Skopje, North Macedonia. Formed in 2005, the ensemble was founded by vocalist Elena Hristova, tambura players Aleksandar Stamatov and Nikola Nikolov, and percussionist Dejan Sibinovski, who performed on the daf and other percussion instruments. The group established their sound by blending traditional Balkan melodies with modern, jazz-influenced arrangements, focusing on creating original music based on traditional Macedonian aesthetics. Their self-titled debut album, Baklava, was released in 2006. The band followed with the albums Kalemar (2008) and Me Mankas Mucho (2011). The group toured across Europe, performing at prominent events such as the Skopje Jazz Festival and the Sfinks Festival in Belgium. Subsequent releases include their fourth studio album, From Skopje with Love, which was released in 2023.
