June Yamagishi, born Junshi Yamagishi on June 6, 1953, in Ise City, is a Japanese R&B, blues, and jazz guitarist based in New Orleans. Yamagishi formed the West Road Blues Band in 1972 before joining the soul ensemble Sooo Baad Revue in 1975. His debut solo album, Really?!, appeared in 1979. During the 1980s and 1990s, Yamagishi performed with the bands Myx, Chickenshack, and Band of Pleasure. After moving to New Orleans in 1995, Yamagishi joined the Wild Magnolias and Papa Grows Funk. Yamagishi collaborated with musicians including Earl King, Henry Butler, and George Porter Jr., and appeared in the HBO series Treme. His discography includes Together Again - Blues in New Orleans (2007) and ... still in love with the Blues (2024). Yamagishi received a Fessy Award in 2025 and a Grammy Award nomination for the album Live At Vaughn's (2025).
