Brian Joo is an American singer born January 10, 1981 in Los Angeles, California. Born Joo Min-gyu, Joo grew up in New Jersey and trained with Brothers Entertainment before signing with SM Entertainment. Joo debuted on December 9, 1999 as part of the R&B duo Fly to the Sky with Hwanhee. Joo launched a solo career with the album The Brian on December 18, 2006, which reached number 7 on the monthly Korean chart and yielded the single “Don't Go”. Joo released his second solo album Manifold in 2009, featuring the single “My Girl” with Supreme Team. After signing with Jellyfish Entertainment in 2010, Joo released the EP Unveiled (2011), which reached number 7 on the Gaon Album Chart and featured the single “Love Is Over Now”, followed by the EP ReBorn Part 1 (2012). Joo starred as Mark in a 2011 Seoul production of the musical Rent and performed in Loving the Silent Tears in 2012. In 2014, Fly to the Sky reunited under H2 Media and released the album Continuum, whose title track “You You You” reached Number 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart.
