Sean Callery, born in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, in 1964, is an American composer best known for his work in film, television, and video games. After earning a piano performance degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1987, he moved to Los Angeles to work for New England Digital, the creators of the Synclavier synthesizer. His early career included scoring the NBC television film A Mom for Christmas alongside John Farrar in 1990, and serving as a sound designer on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. In 1996, he was hired to compose the underscore for the USA Network series La Femme Nikita, which ran for five seasons from 1997 to 2001. He collaborated with executive producer Howard Gordon on the series 24 from 2001 to 2010, winning three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series in 2003, 2006, and 2010, alongside the 2007 Film & TV Music Awards for Best Score for a Dramatic Television Program and Best Television Theme. His subsequent television scoring credits include Medium, Shark, Bones, The Kennedys, The Confession, Homeland, Elementary, 24: Live Another Day, and the Marvel series Jessica Jones, for which he won the 2016 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
