Funeral Mist is a Swedish black metal band from Stockholm that formed in 1993. The ensemble was founded by the musicians Typhos, Vintras, and Velion and is famous for its violent, chaotic sound and for the influential studio recording Salvation (2003). The vocalist and bassist Arioch joined the group in 1994 and has remained its sole permanent member since 2003. After releasing the demos Darkness (1996) and Havoc (1996), the band recorded the debut EP Devilry (1998). Their discography includes the studio recordings Maranatha (2009), Hekatomb (2018), and Deiform (2021). The ensemble's lyrical themes typically focus on devil worship and blasphemy, frequently incorporating quotes from the King James Version of the Bible. In 2013, the group released the compilation box set Trisagion to mark their 20th anniversary.
