Hansjörg Albrecht, born in 1972 in Freiberg, Germany, is a conductor, organist, and harpsichordist. He began his musical education as a member of the Dresdner Kreuzchor and studied conducting and organ in Hamburg, Lyon, and Cologne. From 2005 until the end of the 2022/2023 season, Albrecht served as the artistic director of the Münchener Bach-Chor and Münchener Bach-Orchester. As a conductor, he collaborated with notable artists such as Dorothee Oberlinger and Sharon Kam, and orchestras including the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI in Turin and the Bayerisches Staatsorchester. His discography includes significant releases like Die Planeten by Gustav Holst, which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2013 for Best Classical Instrumental Solo.
