Dead in the Dirt is a US grindcore band from Atlanta, Georgia, founded in December 2008 by guitarist and singer Blake Connally, and eventually joined by drummer Hank Pratt and bassist and singer Bo Orr, who also designed the covers for their releases. Their first EP, Vold, was released in 2010, followed by another EP, Fear, in 2011 after signing with Southern Lord Records. In 2013, they released their debut album, The Blind Hole, produced at Bricktop Recording Studio in Chicago and mastered by Brad Boatright. The album showcased the band's fast-paced grindcore style, influenced by groups like His Hero is Gone and Dropdead, with notable elements of noise and D-beat.
