Chorus Grant aka Kristian Finnes msuical journey began on the remote island Bornholm and took off when he at 16 years old won the biggest national band contest with the group Softporn. Later he toured both Europe and the United States with his childhood friends in The River Phoenix and played guitar as a hired gun with The Fashion. He was a songwriter and wingman in the sadcore band Green Pitch before joining Nikolaj Vonsild in the experimental duo Cancer. The main project, however, is Chorus Grant.
Chorus Grant released the album Space in 2014 which was praised by critics in his native Denmark and raised eyebrows internationally. In 2019 Chorus Grant finally returns with new music. Developing his own take on a new Nordic sound, Kristian found what he calls 'the melancholic major'. The harmonic qualities of this tone inhabit these songs, leading to an emotional core.
'Music and songwriting is my most trusted friend. It helps me to understand life and give voice to ponderings that can't not be articulated in normal conversation. I've felt an urgency to write these songs that deal with transition and transformation, floating mid-air between an old and new life. My hope is this new record will resonate with others, serving as a mirror where peoiple can unravel their own lives and find comfort in the fact that no one is alone when facing fundamental change.' - Kristian Finne
