Canciones para no dormir la siesta was a Uruguayan musical collective founded by Horacio Buscaglia and Nancy Guguich on June 19, 1975. The group debuted at El Galpón theater with traditional children's songs and original compositions. Initial members included Jorge Bonaldi, Leticia Moreira, Gonzalo Moreira, Jaime Roos, and Walter Venencio. Canciones para no dormir la siesta resumed activities under this name in 1978 after political unrest led to the seizure of their instruments inside the theater and the departure of many members. The group released several albums, notably Canciones para no dormir la siesta (1979) and Diez años (1985). The album Diez años featured the hit "Chim pum fuera", achieving double platinum status. They performed in various theaters and held massive concerts. Internal disagreements and financial pressures led to their disbandment in July 1990.
