Profusion, an Italian musical group from Sienne, was formed in 2001 as Mardi Gras Experience by Vladimer Sichinava on drums, Gionatan Caradonna on keyboards, and Marco Pieri on bass. In 2002, they renamed themselves Profusion and added Alberto Riggi on guitar and Alessandro Buzzo as vocalist. The group's first album, One Piece Puzzle, was released in January 2006 after several years of recording delays. In 2011, Profusion signed with ProgRock Records and released their second album, RewoToweR in February 2012. Their third album, Phersu, was published in 2015, featuring notable collaborators such as Anita Rachvelishvili and Mamuka Gaganidze.
