SKATERS were a rock band formed in New York City, New York, United States, in 2012. They consisted of Michael Ian Cummings on vocals and songwriting, Noah Rubin on drums, Joshua Hubbard on guitar, Dan Burke on bass, and Tommy Allen as a contributing member. Their early background involved working as bartenders while developing their music. They released their first EP, Schemers (2012), which was inspired by New York City's music and art scenes. They gained traction with their performance at SXSW in Austin, Texas, in March 2013. Their debut single, "I Wanna Dance (But I Don't Know How)", was released on April 9, 2013. Their debut album, Manhattan (2014), was released via Warner Bros. Records and received critical acclaim. They went independent in 2017 and released their second album, Rock and Roll Bye Bye (2017), under Yonks Records.
