Eliza Gilkyson, born on August 24, 1950, in Hollywood, California, is an American folk musician based in Taos, New Mexico. She began her musical journey as a background singer on her father Terry Gilkyson's recordings and released her debut album Eliza '69 in 1969. In 1981, she moved to Austin, Texas, and released Pilgrims in 1987 under Gold Castle Records. Her career saw significant milestones with albums like Hard Times in Babylon (2000) and Land of Milk and Honey (2004), the latter earning her a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Album. She has been recognized with multiple awards, including induction into the Texas Music Hall of Fame in 2003 and a Grammy nomination for The Nocturne Diaries (2014). Throughout her career, she has released numerous albums under various labels, including Red House Records and her own label Realiza Records, with her album Dark Ages in 2025.
