Peter Rosmanith, born in 1956 in Gmünd, Niederösterreich, is an Austrian percussionist and composer. He grew up in Vienna, where he began his musical journey as a drummer in various bands. Rosmanith studied jazz drumming and percussion at the Musikhochschule Wien under Fritz Ozmec. His early career saw him exploring diverse musical traditions, including Indian, Arabic, and Afro-Cuban music, and taking tabla lessons from Jatinder Takur. Throughout his career, Rosmanith collaborated with numerous world music formations, including Otto Lechner's band, Klaus Trabitsch, Christina Zurbrügg, Liederlich Spielleut, Lakis & Achwach, Dobrek Bistro, and the Bethlehem All Stars. He contributed to approximately thirty albums as a sideman. He was a founding member of the record label Windhund Records, and in 2000, he released the solo album Aans.
