Deishovida was a folk and crossover band from Graz, Austria, formed in 1993 by violinist Kurt Bauer and hurdy-gurdy player Matthias Loibner. The group’s lineup included Bauer on violin, Loibner on hurdy-gurdy, Lothar Lässer on accordion, and Walter Pogantsch on electric bass, with later personnel changes in the rhythm section. Deishovida initially performed Celtic, Scandinavian, and Balkan folk music and later developed a broader fusion incorporating elements of Klezmer and Roma music. Their debut album, fast folk, was released in 1994, followed by Not 4 U in 1997 and Gaisfeld in 2000. In 2001, the band collaborated with the Sandy Lopičić Orkestar on the album Border Confusion. Deishovida ceased activity in the late 2000s.
