Blou is the musical project of singer-songwriter Patrice Boulianne, born in 1964 in Saint-Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. In 1994, Blou was formed with accompanying musicians in Baie Sainte-Marie, Nova Scotia, Canada. He claims a unique musical style that he calls Acadico, a blend of Acadian, Cajun and zydeco styles. Blou takes its name from the street where its founding member and leader lives, L'Allée des Blou. The street is named after a native who lived at the end of it in the 19th century. In 1998, the band's first album, Acadico , was released. In 2000, the second album, Rhythm 'n Blou, gave the band the opportunity to tour internationally, visiting over thirty countries in the process. In 2003, Blou released its third album to celebrate its tenth anniversary, Blou, Blanc, Rouge. In 2004, he won the ECMA Award for Francophone Album of the Year. In 2006, a fourth album, Pied-À-Terre, was released, with the single "Come Away Café". In 2008, Noël Blou! is a Christmas album. To celebrate 20 years of Blou, the album 20 Temps was released in 2014. The singer has been an important ambassador of Acadian culture since the creation of Blou.
