Britta Stallmeister

Britta Stallmeister is a German operatic soprano. She studied voice at the Musikhochschule Hannover with Carl-Heinz Müller and became a long-standing member of the Oper Frankfurt from 1998 to 2015, where she made her debut as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. During her time there, she sang more than 50 roles, including Hekuba in Berlioz’s Les Troyens, as well as Woglinde in Wagner’s Die Walküre, and appeared in several recorded Frankfurt productions. She has also performed as a guest at major European opera houses and festivals, including appearances at the Bayreuth Festival in 2001 as Waldvogel in Siegfried and a Flower Maiden in Parsifal, and at the Salzburg Festival in 2002 as Europa in Strauss’s Die Liebe der Danae. Her concert and recording work includes Bach’s St Matthew Passion (2000) and Strauss’s version of Mozart’s Idomeneo (2008), and she has appeared in contemporary premieres such as Søren Nils Eichberg’s Schönerland in 2017.
