Thomas Bloch, born in 1962 in Colmar, France, is a percussionist known for playing rare instruments like the Ondes Martenot and glass harmonica. He studied at the conservatories of Colmar and Strasbourg, earning top honors in Ondes Martenot from the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. Bloch's career includes performances at major venues and festivals worldwide. Notable achievements include playing an original glass harmonica version of "Madness Aria" from Lucia di Lammermoor at La Scala, Milan, and being the first to perform Erik Satie's Vexations in full. He collaborated with artists such as Tom Waits and Marianne Faithfull, and released albums like Music For Glass Harmonica (2001) and Ondes Martenot (2004). Bloch became a professor at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg in 1992.
