Ghetonìa, a cultural group based in Calimera, Grecìa Salentina, Italy, was founded in 1992 by Roberto Licci, Salvatore Cotardo, and Pierangelo Colucci. The group aimed to preserve the music, poetry, language, and folklore of the Griko-speaking people of Salento. They were also known for incorporating Mediterranean rhythms and sounds into their arrangements, thanks to Colucci's knowledge of Arabic music. Notable albums include Grecia salentina (1997), Per incantamento (1998), Mari e lune a est del sud (1999), and Terra E Sale (2005). Ghetonìa has performed extensively in Italy and abroad, including performances in Greece, the Balkans, Cuba, and the USA.
