Room Eleven was a Dutch band from Utrecht, active from 2004 to 2009. The group originated in 2001 when lead vocalist Janne Schra and guitarist Arriën Molema began writing music together. In August 2004, keyboardist Tony Roe, double bassist Lucas Dols, and drummer Maarten Molema joined the band, and the group performed at Amsterdam's Uitmarkt later that year. Their debut studio album, Six White Russians and a Pink Pussycat, was released in June 2006 and achieved platinum certification. It was re-released in early 2007 with an additional bonus disc featuring cover versions of the song “Bitch”. That same year, the band released the single “Come Closer” and performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, returning to perform at the festival in 2009. In April 2008, the group released its second studio album, Mmm... Gumbo?, which featured the string quartet ETHEL and achieved gold certification. The band also released the live album Live in Carré in 2009 before splitting up in December of that year, after which Schra, Dols, and Roe continued in the band Schradinova.
