Aerolíneas Federales was a Spanish pop-rock band. The group initially performed with guitar, bass, and a drum machine at local venues such as the pub El Satchmo, an important hub of Vigo’s emerging music scene. Their name came from an early song titled “Aerolíneas Federales,” which was never officially recorded. In 1983, the group gained wider recognition after winning the II Concurso de Rock de La Coruña. Aerolíneas Federales released their self-titled debut album in 1986 through DRO Records, followed by Hop Hop (1987), Tomando Tierra (1988), Échame sifón (1989), and Una O Ninguna (1991). The group remained active into the mid-1990s, including collaborations with the television program Xabarín Club, before eventually disbanding. They reunited briefly in 2011 for performances in Lima and Barcelona.
