Kenneth Allen Woods, born in 1968, is an American conductor, composer and cellist. He studied conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Leonard Slatkin, David Zinman, Jorma Panula and Gerhard Samuel. Woods served as music director of the Dayton Philharmonic and the Oregon East Symphony before becoming principal guest conductor of the Orchestra of the Swan in 2009, where he recorded the first complete symphonies of Hans Gál and Robert Schumann. He later led the English Symphony Orchestra, premiering works by Robert Fokkens and John Joubert’s Jane Eyre. From 2015 he directed the Colorado MahlerFest, establishing a Mahler Conducting Fellowship and presenting the Deryck Cooke version of Mahler’s Tenth Symphony. Woods also recorded Entartete Musik repertoire, including Ernst Krenek: Complete Piano Concertos, Volume One (2016).
