Cancer Barrack was a German rock band formed in Hamburg in 1986. The group originated from the members of Courage of Despair and initially included Axel Ermes, Andreas Klatt, Thorsten Cichowski, and Henning Lamp’l. After adding Volker “Zaphor” Zacharias as vocalist, they renamed themselves Cancer Barrack. Their debut EP Luscious, released in 1989, showcased their Gothic Rock sound with songs like "Arlette" and "King Death". In the 1990s, the band's style evolved to include Metal- and Hard-Rock elements and German lyrics. Notable tracks from this period included "Beischlaf mit 60 kg Hackfleisch," which gained attention when mentioned on a radio show. Cancer Barrack disbanded in 1993. A best-of compilation titled Das Letzte Gebet - The Best of Cancer Barrack, featuring two previously unreleased tracks, was published posthumously in 1998.
