Heiress, a metal band from Seattle, Washington, was formed in 2006 by guitarist Wes Reed. Initially conceived as a solo project with rotating vocalists, Heiress evolved into a full band with the addition of Adam Paysse on vocals (later replaced by John Pettibone), Julian Zurdo on drums, and Eric Severson on bass. In 2009, they released their self-titled EP, which marked their first official release. The following year, Heiress signed to Deathwish Inc., an independent hardcore punk record label co-founded by Jacob Bannon of Converge. Their debut album, Early Frost, was released in 2013 after delays. In 2015, the band released their second studio album Of Great Sorrow, followed by Made Wrong in 2016. Heiress' fourth album, Distant Fires, was released in 2021. Notable singles include "Narrows / Heiress Split" and "Naysayer / Just Throats".
