Harald Blüchel, born 19 February 1963 in Nürnberg, Germany, is a German composer, pianist and producer. After receiving classical piano training at the Nürnberg Conservatory at age seven, Blüchel relocated to West Berlin in 1987 to study composition at the Hochschule der Künste. He entered the emerging techno and trance scene in 1988 and adopted the alias Cosmic Baby. His collaborations with Paul van Dyk as the Visions of Shiva, Kid Paul in Energy 52, and later Christopher von Deylen as Bluechel & von Deylen expanded his reach. In 1995, he founded the label Time Out of Mind and toured globally at venues such as Time Warp and Mayday. After withdrawing from the techno scene in 1999, Blüchel focused on contemporary classical output. He resumed public performances in 2016 with solo piano “workshop concerts" in Berlin.
